If you already have a web compatible FLV or Mp4 file, you
can skip this tutorial.
In this tutorial we will be converting an ordinary video file
to web compatible FLV format. To do this watch the video below
and see how we apply the best settings for a video file to
encode.
You probably do not have the Flash Player (Get Adobe Flash Player Here) installed for your browser or the video files are misplaced on your server!
We have cut the actual encoding time in the video. You
can have a coffee or lunch break while having your file encoded.
Playback of video files - If you want to test both your source
and web video on the same video player, we suggest you download
VLC Media Player. Here
If you are not satisfied with the output quality you can try
the following,
Use a higher video bitrate.
Use a smaller video window size.
Choose "Advanced" settings and then increase
"H.264 Quality".
Choose "Advanced" settings and then increase
"Constant Rate Factor".
You can choose either FLV or Mp4. It is entirely your choice.
For H.264, the encoded video format will be the same, only
the container will be different.
Encoding is subject to perfection and largely depends on your
source video format and quality. Even if you do not get that
desired output quality in your first try, just alter the encoding
settings and see which works best for your video.
